Steven Rick is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego. His dissertation work focuses on sensing nonverbal communication behavior between doctors and patients. Steven’s research lives more generally at the intersection of human behavior, technology, and design.
Trained as a Biomedical Informatician (through the support of an NIH NLM Pre-Doctoral Fellowship), he regularly applies himself within the healthcare domain, working on problems ranging from symptom detection and care-coordination to health equity and technology usability.
